As Richmonders we are proud of our city and the people in it. So when we were ranked third in the country for the city with the most tattoos, it was just one more reason to celebrate. However, in a city with a lot of tattoos, there’s bound to be a few regrets. People get tattoos with the best intentions, but sometimes over the years, a tattoo can lose its meaning or just turn out to have been a bad idea altogether, just like Mom said it would be. That is where Richmond Aesthetic Surgery comes in.
During your consultation with Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Neil J. Zemmel and Physician Assistant Emily Leisy, PA-C you will learn of the non-invasive treatments offered for tattoo removal. Dr. Zemmel and Emily will assess your tattoo for possible removal and cover all aspects of the procedure. You will be given a fee quote for each laser treatment. Tattoo removal may cause some discomfort during the procedure, but the procedure lasts only a few moments. The laser works by releasing short bursts of high intensity light on the skin, which pass through the top layers of the skin and are then absorbed by the tattoo pigment. The tattoo pigment then breaks into smaller particles which are absorbed by the body’s immune system. Multiple treatments may be necessary and each tattoo responds differently. Dr. Zemmel and Emily will cover all aspects of this treatment in your initial consultation.
We look forward to seeing you in our office.
