Cleavage is a characteristic of the breasts that many women want to put on display, as it creates a more feminine and sensual aesthetic. This coveted gap is most noticeable with larger breasts and is typically most visible when clothing has a low neckline. Cleavage creates a fuller, perkier appearance to the breasts that many women with smaller breasts strive to obtain.
While surgery is the only way to physically change the actual size of the breasts, certain actions or aids can accentuate the appearance of a woman’s cleavage. For example, push-up bras and breast tape can help add more fullness to the upper portion of the breasts. Exercise and good posture can also help the breasts achieve this desired gap. Additionally, some individuals utilize makeup to contour their decolletage to mimic the shading of natural cleavage.
While all of these methods can enhance the look of cleavage, some women choose to undergo breast surgery with implants and/or fat transfer to increase the volume of their breasts. Breast augmentation with saline or silicone implants is highly customized to each individual to create the desired shape and size they want to obtain. A breast augmentation with fat transfer uses a graft of the patient’s own tissue (harvested via liposuction from an area with excess fat, such as the abdomen or hips) to give the breasts a more natural boost. Both methods of augmentation can create beautiful results with ample cleavage.
